Susan Fox Schiro
Susan Fox Schiro joined SVP because of the organization's commitment to helping low-income people become economically self-sufficient. Susan co-founded Career Collaborative which transforms the lives of low-income families by providing clients the personal skills, access to job opportunities, and individual support they need to become economically self-sufficient. Astoundingly, 70% of Career Collaborative's mentees are continuously employed for two years. Susan volunteers full-time as CEO of Career Collaborative. Prior to founding Career Collaborative she worked as an organizational consultant advising clients on start-up issues, organizational structure, and team building. She has taught management, organizational behavior and theory at colleges and universities in the Boston area and in Hartford. Previous positions include working as an operational controller for Connecticut General, as an economist for the Connecticut Department of Commerce, and a market researcher for Federated Department Stores and May Co. of Southern California. Susan holds a BA from Harvard College, an MBA from the University of Cincinnati, and a PhD in Organization Studies from the Sloan School at MIT. |
