Vice President, National Development at Jumpstart for Young Children
Tucker is Vice President, National Development at Jump Start for Children, a nonprofit working toward the day every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. Prior to Jump Start, Tucker worked with early to mid-stage companies as both an investor and an operator, tackling roles from marketing and business development, to mergers and acquisitions and strategy. The bulk of his experience has been in financial services and technology (his first job out of college was as a marketer in an on-line brokerage whose founding pre-dated the advent of the world-wide web), and he also served a stint as a management consultant at Deloitte Consulting’s Braxton Associates and was business development director at Forrester Research. As a summer soccer coach, a tutor, and an English major at the University of Pennsylvania, Tucker developed a visceral attachment to teaching which has evolved into a focus on addressing the opportunity and performance gap between students from our wealthier and economically disadvantaged public schools. Beyond his passion for education reform, Tucker is a rusty vocalist who now spends most of his free time in the mountains of Vermont with his wife Vicky, daughter Graciela, and Ozzie the Spanish Water Dog. Tucker has a BA from Penn and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. |
