Fred Bamber
Solstice Capital Partner
Fred Bamber is a partner at the venture firm, Solstice Capital. He has over 30 years of experience in the computer and venture industries. He co-founded Applied Technology, which managed three early-stage venture funds focused on the computer industry. The funds invested $75 million in over 60 start-up companies. Spanning the information industry, these included: Interleaf (enterprise electronic publishing software), Cadence Design (software for electronic design), ISD (multistage memory chips); Maker Communications (network communications chips). Previously, he spent 10 years as an operating executive after his participation in the start-up of Data Resources, Inc. (DRI), a pioneer electronic information software and services company. One of the few successful start-ups of the seventies, DRI went public in 1976, and was acquired by McGraw-Hill in 1979. Fred has been a Director of a number of public and private companies. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Connected Corporation, Okena, Supplyworks and Lewtan Technology. He received an AB from Yale College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. |
