Lina Janavicius Morales
Raised in Ohio, Lina Janavicius Morales is the fifth of seven children. She graduated MIT in 1982 with a SB in Materials Science and Engineering and received her SM in 1984. She worked as a semiconductor process engineer at Standard Microsystems on Long Island, NY and then ITT Semiconductors in Connecticut. In 1990, she moved back to the Boston area and has been here ever since. In Boston, she has worked for a number of small companies, including Texel (ferroelectric films), Ceramem (ceramic powder processing), Separation Technologies (powerplant flyash electrostatic separation), Millipore (applications engineering for semiconductor filters), and now iSine (integrated circuit layout). Lina has twins (boy and girl) born in 1997. She lives in Somerville in an old (1850) rambling house with a large yard. There she spends many hours gardening and taking pictures of the flowers. She has also played on the Charles River Women's Soccer team for about 15 years. She has coached her children in soccer for the last 5 years. Lina has stayed involved with MIT over the years. She has worked on her class reunions since the 1990's and was the 20th reunion chair and the president for the 25th reunion. She is currently one of the VP's of Programs for the MIT Club of Boston. |
