What Awardees Receive
Selected nonprofits will be matched with a dedicated SVPB Engagement Team—a group of experienced, high-impact consultants who will partner with your organization for 12 months.
This pro bono engagement, valued at $250,000, provides deep capacity-building support in areas such as:

Strategic planning

Financial strategy
-
Fundraising strategy
-
Board governance
-
Organizational development
By the end of the engagement, your organization will be stronger, more sustainable, and poised for significant growth in service to your community.


Financial Grant Eligibility
In addition to consulting, grantees become eligible for financial grants of no less than $5,000. These grants will be distributed subject to need, engagement progress, and SVPB’s Investment Committee review.
2026 Grant Application Guidelines
To apply, your organization:

Must be a registered 501(c)(3) public charity
-
Will ideally have an annual budget between $500K–$3M
-
Must primarily serve constituents in Greater Boston
-
Must have a mission focused on economic mobility by providing access to food security, housing, education, or workforce development
-
Must be ready to scale impact and improve sustainability
-
Must have a leadership team open to collaboration and change
-
Must commit to fully engaging with the SVPB team
We do not accept applications from:
-
Government agencies or public schools
-
Organizations promoting religion or religious ideology
-
Organizations that discriminate against people of color, immigrants, or LGBTQIA+ individuals

September 22: Finalists invited to submit full application

October 15 - November 6: Finalist interviews and evaluations

November 18: Winners notified

December 8: Winners announced at Spark! A Celebration of Impact
