Dear Partners, Grantees, and Supporters,
The mission of SVP Boston is to provide consulting and technical support to help build capacity in nonprofits while also developing informed philanthropists—an effort that has a major impact on the nonprofit sector.
Our partners from the corporate world who serve on engagement teams quickly learn that the challenges nonprofits face are unique. By working closely with nonprofit leaders to solve real-world problems, our volunteer consultants gain valuable insight that will serve them well in their future roles as volunteers, board members, and donors. A world in which philanthropists have a deep understanding of how nonprofits operate, the value they provide, and the challenges they face will foster smarter, more effective partnerships between donors and nonprofits.
I am proud to work with a community of skilled professionals committed to making the world a better place. They embrace the opportunity to collaborate with others who share a common vision for social impact. As we grow, I look forward to welcoming more partners and helping them deepen their engagement with the nonprofit sector as SVP Boston cultivates informed, compassionate, and generous social investors.
If you know anyone who is interested in becoming a hands-on, informed philanthropist, please invite them to one of our upcoming events listed below or introduce them to me to learn more.
As always, I welcome the opportunity to connect by phone, Zoom, or over coffee.
In gratitude,
Karin Cassel Mitterando, CEO

“Being a SVPB lead partner allows me to stretch myself as a professional by a) developing my expertise in managing bigger consultant/client teams and more complex consulting projects, b) creating consulting content and tools that can be leveraged for other SVPB consulting teams/projects, c) working with like-minded SVPB professionals who want to give of themselves for the betterment of the client(s) we serve, and d) seeing the growing joy/motivation in the client's demeanor as they obtain huge value from our monumental work with them.” - Harvey Simkovits, SVP Boston Partner and Team Lead, pictured with Abdi Ali, Executive Director of WordPowered, at their recent annual fundraiser, Pros&Conversation.

Welcome New Partner! Ryan Wasylyshyn ![]() After graduating from Fordham University in 2022, I began my career at KPMG's Boston office, where I spent 3 years partnering with clients to improve and strengthen their financial processes. During my time at KPMG, I developed strong financial and technical skills while working in a fast paced, evolving environment. In 2025, I joined Lantheus Medical Imaging, where I currently work within their finance team to support research and development initiatives. "I joined SVP because I wanted a way to give back that was both hands-on and genuinely impactful, not just a one-off volunteer experience. SVP's focus on skills-based volunteering and long term partnerships really resonated with me, especially as someone who enjoys solving problems and building sustainable solutions. It also felt like a great opportunity to learn from and collaborate with thoughtful, mission-driven people while making a difference in my community." |
